Two ferry companies, two terminals
In Helsinki, the ferries to Stockholm use two terminals, both around two to two and a half kilometres from the central station. Viking Line uses the Katajanokka terminal. Tallink Silja uses the Olympia terminal in the South Harbour. Which ferry company runs your departure is shown on your ticket and for every departure in the timetable.

Mind the clock: Finland is one hour ahead of Sweden. All departure and arrival times are given in local time.
Katajanokka terminal: Viking Line
The terminal is open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 21:00, Friday from 6:00 to 21:00, Saturday from 8:00 to 21:00 and Sunday from 8:00 to 19:00. Check-in is on the 1st floor and is staffed Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 to 20:30, Friday from 6:00 to 21:00 and Sunday from 8:00 to 19:00. Boarding is on the 2nd floor. The passenger gates open about 2 to 2.5 hours before departure. By car, check in at Gate C.
By tram and train
Tram 5 runs straight to the terminal. Line 4 stops at Vyökatu, 400 metres away. The central station is 2.5 kilometres away on line 5. The airport is 22.6 kilometres away: take tram 5 to the station, then bus 600 or the I or P train. You can buy tram tickets on board the Viking Line ships before you arrive.
Parking
P5 has 55 bookable spaces, 7 of them with EV charging points, and about 100 spaces without booking. P3 is at Kanavakatu 12. P2 is only open from October to April, and you can park there for a maximum of 48 hours. For drop-off and pick-up you can stop for up to four hours. With a disabled parking permit, parking is free.
In the terminal
There is a cash machine, left-luggage storage, a café with a kiosk, a playroom, Wi-Fi and a Hertz desk. Viking Line only accepts cards at the port.
Olympia terminal: Tallink Silja
The Olympia terminal is in the South Harbour, Eteläsatama. The approach is via Gate B at Eteläranta 7. The terminal is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00. Check-in runs from 14:45 to 16:15, for vehicles from 15:00. There is no customer service or ticket sales here; these are handled at Länsiterminaali 2. The terminal is cashless. You'll find Bistro O, open from 10:00 to 17:00, a kiosk, left-luggage storage and a cash machine.
By tram and train
Tram lines 2 and 3 stop at the terminal. The central station is 2.2 kilometres away on line 2 or 3, and Kamppi is 3.1 kilometres away on line 2. The airport is 23.6 kilometres away: take tram 2 or 3 to the station, then the I or P train or bus 600.
Parking
The Olympiaparkki car park on the lower level of the terminal can only be used if you book in advance through the Port of Helsinki. It has 73 spaces, 9 of them with EV charging points, is open around the clock and takes vehicles up to 3.2 metres high. Without a booking, park at Makasiini P2 and Makasiiniranta P3 at Eteläranta 7, about 500 metres away. From 1 October 2026 you pay at these car parks via the Moovy app; EasyPark, ParkMan and Aimo also work.
